Nauyaca Waterfalls Horseback Ride

nauyaca waterfallsThis horseback ride takes you to one of the most wonderful waterfalls in the world. The tour begins at the main road towards San Isidro and starts going down to the farm of the owners. After about 40 minutes you will have a delicious breakfast at “Lulo‘s" house with “Tico” style food. Here you will get the chance to observe some animals in the small zoo that the family has on the property. After breakfast the trip continues for about 20 minutes till you reach the waterfalls. At the waterfall you can swim in the pool and enjoy its' beauty. Once finished at the waterfall you will return to Lulo's house to have lunch and then return to the starting point.

Hike to Nauyaca Waterfalls! We do an intensive hike with is a great alternative for those who would rather hike than ride horses down to this gorgeous waterfall! Hikers must be in good shape to complete this hike. We spend as much time as you wish at the waterfalls and give you time to explore both levels of the magnificent falls. Afterwards, we enjoy fresh fruit and cold water!

Hacienda Baru Zip Line

Our Rainforest Zipline Tour, imitates the flight of the chestnut-mandibled toucan, as it leaps off a branch, swoops down through the forest and then up in to another tree. On this tour, 8 separate cable rides take you from one ridge top to another, across valleys and streams. There are 14 land based platforms and 1 tree platform with a view of the coast. You will have 2 guides on this tour one of whom speaks fluent English. This is a great way to see and learn about the forest and have lots of fun at the same time.

Hacienda Baru’s 330 hectares (815 acres) have a fantastic variety of habitats, from wetland and secondary forest in the lowlands to primary forest on the highland coastal ridge.

Mangrove Kayak Tour (10 months out of the year)

Mangrove swamps are one of the richest natural environments in the world. Mangrove trees are the only plant that thrives in salt water. You'll see a great variety of birds in the swamps including: Bare-Throated Tiger Heron, Little Blue Heron, Brown Pelican, Royal Tern; and mammals including White Faced Capuchin Monkey, Three and Two-Toed Sloth, Northern & Crab Eating Raccoons, and White Nosed Coati. Some of the reptiles indigenous to the swamps are the Green Iguana, Jesus Christ Lizard, Boa Constrictor snake and 6 different species of crabs.

Departing from Dominical, heading north for about 5 kilometers on the Costanera Highway we will arrive at the Hatillo Mangrove Swamps next to Guapil Beach. We may stop along the way to view sloths, toucans or monkeys. At the put-in spot your guide will give safety instructions and will explain to you the grand significance of this environment. We will then introduce you to an easy, 3 hour paddle through the canals discovering the beauty and the great variety of fauna that this estuary offers. The tour's departure time depends upon the tide

Waves & Caves Kayak Tour (10 months out of the year)

Get ready for a high adrenaline ocean kayak adventure to the spectacular Ventanas caves! During the time span of our beautiful planet Earth, these amazing cave structures have been created, yet they are only temporary (for another 10,000 years or so!) so, take advantage of this amazing site. This 4 hour tour will take you all along the gorgeous coast south of Marina Ballena National Park. You will kayak along the cliffs and caves, and depending on the conditions, you might even be able to kayak through some of them! The intense noise of the waves echoing on the eroded volcanic rock, combined with the sparkling turquoise water splashing around you, will make your heart pound with excitement. As you catch glimpses of whales and pelicans, enjoy the spectacular view of the rolling green mountains meeting the palm tree-filled, dark sand beaches. This tour is not for the queasy, scared, young children, people with heart problems and pregnant woman. But it IS for someone adventurous, who wants a different taste of Costa Rica!

Poza Azul

Poza Azul is a beautiful waterfall located only 10 minutes walk from the beach at Dominicalito. The falls are aproximately 40ft high with nice cool water that will refresh you after a surf session. Beautiful trees, plants and places to relax. Monkeys sometimes come across jumping from tree to tree in their way up to the mountain. There is a swing rope attached to a big tree where you can make a jump of up to 20 feet high depending on how high you go in the steps behind the tree. One of our visitors favorite spot. You should not miss this beautiful place!

Reptiland Park

Visit the South Pacific Zone's only reptile and amphibian park. Observe these magnificent animals in lush, natural settings. Learn to identify venomous and non-venomous snakes, marvel at poison dart frogs, delight in rainforest lizards and tortoises and be impressed by prehistoric looking crocodilians all in secure enclosures.

Parque Reptilandia is comprised of 55 terrarium style enclosures and ponds on a little over an acre of land. A wide, flat path through the Park makes it wheelchair accessible and a comfortable walk for young and old alike. The central viewing area is undercover and features glass-fronted terrariums arranged with rock, perches and local flora that provide a natural environment for the animals and a rich viewing experience for our guests.

The grounds are spacious and beautifully landscaped with tropical flowers, palms and fruit trees which encourage bird-life and butterflies. Each animal enclosure is extensively planted and designed to take advantage of natural sunlight and rain. We feature a variety of reptiles and amphibians from Costa Rica and other parts of the world including venomous and non-venomous snakes, frogs, lizards, crocodilians, tortoises and turtles. Bring your camera and spend as much time as you like!

Cherepo Trail

On the Rainforest Experience you will hike through primary and secondary forest with one of our guides. Gradually you will find waterfalls that increase in height as you hike upwards in the mountain. In the more remote parts you will enjoy the jungle that surrounds and separates you from distractions. This is a wonderful way to experience the rainforest. For this hike we recommend light clothing, binoculars, repellent and a bottle of water. Lunch is included. -This tour requires great physical condition and skills to climb the waterfalls-

Manuel Antonio National Park

Manuel Antonio National Park is one of the most beautiful and visited national parks in Costa Rica. Only 30 minutes drive from Dominical, this sanctuary has several species of animals and plants will take your breath away. Beautiful and secluded light sand beaches are at the park. White faced monkeys, raccoons, hawks, sloths and many other animals can be seen throughout the park.

White Water Rafting

Costa Rica is one of the best places in the world for rafting. We have rivers ranging from class II to class V and is a sport for those who love heart pounding adventures! The rivers flow through amazing rainforests which gives you lots of opportunity to see wildlife from a different point of view! There are rafting trips from beginner levels up to experts. We run with experienced rafting companies that will keep you safe and as well show you a great time! This trips are normally half day and lunch is included.

Snorkling to Cano Island Natural Reserve

Cano Island Biological Reserve is located in the Pacific Ocean 15 km. off the Osa Peninsula. Snorkling is Costa Rica is best offshore and Cano Island is rated the 2nd best place in Costa Rica for scuba diving and snorkling.

You depart in the morning from Uvita's Whale's tail national park.On the way to the island you have the chance of seeing whales, sea turtles and dolphins. We get humpback, killer and pilot whales. Once you arrive to the island you will be given a chance to go snorkling for about 45 minutes. You then enter the island where you have a chance to explore and enjoy a wonderful lunch.

After lunch you board the boat again and go to the second place for snorkling. You have the option to stay on the beach if you prefer. This tour is an all-day tour, leaving at 8 AM and returning at 5 PM.

Waterfall Reppeling

Waterfall reppeling at it's greatest here in the Dominical area! Costa Canyoning takes you reppeling down six waterfalls! This is definitely a tour for adventure seekers. You must be active with an adventurous attitude.

You depart in the morning from Uvita and take a 15 minute ride up to the top of the canyon. From there you begin your adventure down the six waterfalls. The smallest being 5 meters and the biggest an adrealin pumping 25 meters!

This is a kid friendly tour, although kids must be ages 11 and up. The guidles are highly trained with over 11 years of international canyon guiding experience. Snacks and beverages provided at the end of your adventure. This is a half day tour. You will return from your adventure around 12 in the afternoon. In the dry season they offer tours that leave both in the morning and in the afternoon.
